F.A.Q

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MADE TO ORDER, CUSTOM MADE AND A BESPOKE CUSTOM?

MADE TO ORDER; A gown selected from our studio range that is then produced to a standard sizing, 6 – 16, and can be made to half size increments i.e Size 11.

MADE TO MEASURE: A gown selected from our studio range that is then produced to the measurements of the client.

Once the client has placed an order. 1 prototype is provided with options for minor alterations including hem lengths, strap lengths and basic waist and hip adjustments. All additional changes required are quoted after consult.

We allow up to 4 fittings to ensure an accurate fit.

This service also offers some flexibility in gown details that can be altered to suit the body shape of the client. This service is recommended for clients who are between sizes or are 2 different sizes top and bottom

CUSTOM MADE: Where a gown can be taken from our range and changed to suit the client’s requirements. Necklines, skirt styles and fabrications can be changed to create a customised style that will be perfect in style and fit. Generally, we allow 4 fittings and 2 prototypes. We can mix and match skirts, bodices and offer flexibility in terms of fabrication choice.

BESPOKE: A real Artisan experience Guipurean offers custom made from scratch where we source and develop the fabrications, embroideries and applique (if any) in addition to developing an original design from the inspirations and reference images of a bride. We allow up to 6 fittings and 2 prototypes to develop and create a unique Bespoke gown.

Please note, Guipurean will only offer this service within the confines of our design philosophy. If we feel the design you are after is not in the DNA of our labels identity then we can recommend other bridal designers who may be more suitable. Please note, we will not copy another gown from a designer, We can take inspiration from a gown you love and modify the style to be unique to you, however, if you have your heart set on a particular gown style you have seen elsewhere and wish to have it replicated, we suggest you enlist the services of a dressmaker.

WHAT ARE THE ARTISAN GOWNS?

Artisan gowns are limited edition creations using customised embroideries and textiles. The availability of the raw materials are limited and once a certain quantity have been produced the gown can no longer be ordered. They are made to fit and are a signature of GUIPUREAN.

HOW LONG DO I NEED AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

DO YOU OFFER ALTERATIONS?

If you decide to purchase an ARTISAN, GUIPUREAN BESPOKE or CUSTOM-MADE gown, the alterations are included in the gown pricing as they are fitted throughout the gown’s development.

There are additional changes once the gown has been completed should you require further alterations.

For MADE TO ORDER, there are no alterations included. If design modifications or major fit alterations are required, we suggest selecting our Made To Measure / Custom option. We do not offer alterations for Made to Order gowns and  we suggest the gown is taken to an experienced seamstress or dressmaker.

STORING AND CLEANING

All GUIPUREAN gowns will be cover with a protect cover and stored in a GUIPUREAN bridal bag that will protect your gown before your wedding day.

When you wish to clean your gown after your special day, we recommend only a professional dry-clean specialist who is experienced in looking after delicate and luxury items. They will also be able to offer after wear preservation and storage suggestions.

DO YOU HAVE A SHOWROOM AND WHERE IS IT LOCATED?

Our showroom is in Stanmore, with all day street parking in front of the building.

Our showroom is located in an award winning heritage space, Bridge Road Studios, formerly Starkey’s Ginger Beer Factory,  with our design room and showroom combined in one. It’s an intimate yet inspiring space, it is not a retail store, it is a working studio.

DO I NEED TO HAVE A BOOKING?

GUIPUREAN is an appointment ONLY showroom to ensure we offer a one on one personalised service. We recommend making a booking as earlier in advance as possible. We only take a certain number of bookings and Saturdays are the most popular times and fill up quickly.

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN AN APPOINTMENT?

You will be attended to by the designer, Cassandra, who will discuss and assist you in selecting gowns to try.

The private appointment will include 1 hour in which to view and try on a selection of up to 5 gowns

For MADE TO MEASURE clients, you can also discuss any modification you may wish to make.

All our showroom samples vary in size from size 8 – 10, but GUIPUREAN creates Made to Order gowns in sizes 6 to 14 and Made To Measure / Custom & Bespoke in sizes 4 – 20. The samples are there to assist in your decision on what style, shape and fabrication will suit you.

CAN I BRING FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO THE APPOINTMENT?

We recommend that you bring no more than 2 of your closest family or friends.

Too many opinions and advice can be overwhelming for the bride and space is limited in the showroom.

CAN I TAKE PHOTOS OF THE GOWNS I TRY?

We kindly ask you to refrain from taking any photos of the gowns during fittings.

Once an order has been placed and a deposit taken you may take photos of the ordered gown.

We take great pride in offering bespoke, original gowns that are unique to our brand.

Countless hours have gone into each samples development to ensure their individuality and many are limited edition pieces that we wish not to be copied or adapted by another designer or dress maker. We also believe a gown should be judged more on how you feel in it and see your self in it in real life, photos of gowns without the right angle or lighting can be misleading.

WHAT SIZES DO YOU OFFER?

In our showroom, our sample sizes are size 8-10.

These gowns are a guide only to the style, fabrications and shape on you.

We create  your gown to the required size from  6- 14 and for made to measure clients we make your gown to fit your measurements weather you are 2 different sizes top to bottom or an in-between size, we work to your body shape to create an immaculate fitting gown.

Although we wish to offer the full size range for each sample, to avoid showroom clutter and due to the demanding construction requirements of each gown  we have made our samples to our size 10 base.

I’M NOT A SIZE 10, HOW CAN I TRY ON THE SAMPLE?

We have many clients who vary in shape and size and don’t always fit the sample size.

The fitting consultant will be there to assist you, we clip/hold  samples in place if  not the correct size during the viewing so you can get an idea on the overall design on your body.

I LOVE A GOWN BUT CAN I ADD STRAPS? OR CAN I CHANGE THE BODICE TO STRAPLESS?

At Guipurean, we aim to make choosing your gown a fun and exciting process. If you see a gown you love but it’s not the neckline you where after, please discuss with us during your consult for options.

I LOVE A FABRIC A GOWN IS IN BUT WANT IT IN A DIFFERENT STYLE, CAN THIS BE DONE?

This falls under our custom made category, but please discuss with us your ideas and preference and we will do our upmost to ensure we create a gown that is special for you.

DO YOU OFFER VEILS ?

Yes, we create a limited range of veils, but we also design to order to match your gown, style and preference. You can discuss your requirements during your fitting or at a later stage through the course of your gown construction. Generally we require 6 – 8 weeks to produce a veil and prices are quoted after we discuss with you your preferences.
